DHG is developing a pilot higher education offer for students. This aims to inform and excite students about diversity issues within the heritage sector. Our pilot partner is Bath Spa University, where we will be presenting to the MA class in Heritage Management. This will help us to further develop the offer for the next academic year.
The forward plan for our offer contains two strands:
- We can provide experienced speakers to support curricula in arts and cultural heritage studies in participating institutions. Speakers will talk about both their job and their institution offering students a ‘real world’ glimpse of working in heritage, as well discussing current diversity issues in heritage and culture.
- We hope to develop a network of students and early practitioners to create an environment in which to share best practice, provide informal support, ask questions and explore issues.
We are interested to hear from HE providers and explore more ways we can work together to support the future cultural heritage workforce. We are also very interested in collaborating on research to ensure the research that is undertaken has the greatest impact on our practice.
