Transgender icon -Liverpool exhibition opens

I can’t wait to see this exhibition on April Ashley because there is so little on transgender and transsexual issues in museums. I’ll post highlights and learning points when I have managed to see it. But before I even see it I think Liverpool deserves a back slap for this partnership with Homotopia. Tracy-Ann

July 2012, Social History Curator’s Group Debate

Piotr Bienkowski (Paul Hamlyn funded “Our Museum” project) and Tracy-Ann Smith (DHG) opposed Annika Joy (Science Museum) and Jonathan Wallis (Derby Museums and Art Gallery) in their proposal ‘This conference believes that visitors are the new curators’. A review of the debate is covered in the Social History in Museums Journal vol 37.
